Leslie Friedman is working on exciting, groundbreaking new works. One is for the Ballade, by Brahms, Op. 10, No. 2. Brhams wrote music that has no “program” and yet is deeply emotional as a great narrative.
The Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” is one of the songs in the world premiere “My Sister’s Songs,” dances plus spoken reminiscences about the dancer/author’s sister in particular and the mysteries of close relationships in general. Jazzsinger Helen Humes’ recording of “Someday My Prince Will Come,’ is another of the songs choreographed by Leslie for this mini-play plus dance.
“She’s simply a joy to watch!” Cheered the Times, London.
