The Festival of Lights at the Cowell Theater was a great success. After so many weeks of preparation, it is hard to believe it is over so quickly. Thanks to Sharon Walton, Director of Cowell Theater, Wendy Gilmore, Production Manager, and Larry Bluhm, theater manager/technician--they made it a pleasure to perform on this lovely stage.
More thanks! to our superb volunteers: Gretchen Larsen, Lively’s Board President, worked hard through it all and with a recently broken arm. Mark Handa appeared as though dropped down from a cloud. Saying, Hi, I’m your volunteer to the desperate director, Leslie, Mark pitched in as usher/ticket taker before the show and helped to take down the props, pack them up into bins and then into cars. Heroic efforts from Gretchen and Mark!
Leslie and Harry Danseur (Jonathan Clark in his gorilla outfit) were pictured in the SF Chronicle’s “pink” section--with the weekend’s entertainment features. We still haven’t seen the picture but have heard from many that it was fun seeing it there. Our 13th annual presentation of The Festival of Lights, and our first at Cowell Theater, was watched by an audience of nearly 400 people. We’ve already been asked about our dates for next year’s event!
