The Lively Foundation

Lively’s Artistic Director, Leslie Friedman, traveled to Cedar Falls, IA, to perform her concert, HEROIC, BELOVED at the University of Northern Iowa, March 24. The concert was UNI’s main event celebrating Women’s History Month. Professor Ruth Chananie-Hill coordinated Leslie’s residency on campus and the arrangements for the performance. The concert received an enthusiastic response.
Many thanks to Prof. Phyllis Baker, Chair of the Women’s & Gender Studies program, Prof. Cindy Herndon, Dance Program, Prof. Daniel Wells, Physical Education, Prof. Gabriela Olivares, Spanish Dept. All of these extraordinary people went out of their way to welcome Leslie.
While on campus, Leslie led an advanced writing class, talking about her experiences, and also the Fundamental Physical Activities class on the subject of teaching dance to young people.
