The Lively Foundation
The Lively Foundation presents the first edition of a great new festival: International Dance Festival-Silicon Valley, this August. Classes and rehearsals will be held in Mountain View and two performances at the Historic Hoover Theater, in San Jose. We are excited about these events!
Performances will be Friday, August 24, 8 p.m. & Sunday, August 26, 2 p.m.
Saturday, August 25, there will be a full day of classes open to the public. Classes take place at the Mountain View Masonic Lodge, 890 Church Street, Mountain View. Classes will include Pilates, modern technique & repertory, tap dance, Irish set dancing. More to be confirmed soon.
Monday, Aug. 20 - Friday, Aug. 24, Leanne Rinelli will teach contemporary technique and one of her works which workshop dancers will perform in professional, public concerts on Aug. 24 & 26, in San Jose.
Dancers should attend on Monday for placement class. Workshop classes are 11 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., Aug 20-24.
** Fee for the workshop: $200.
** Workshop dancers receive discounts on all classes offered on Aug. 25.
** Participants in Festival classes & workshops receive discount cards for delightful local cafes such as Le Boulanger, one block from our center.
** Our center at 890 Church St. is an easy walk from the Mtn. View Caltrain station. It is also easily reached by either hwy 280 or hwy 101.
Ms Rinelli formerly danced with Dayton Contemporary Dancers. She now teaches at Buffalo State University, NY, and is a teaching artist with the Arts in Education Institute of New York. She performs and choreographs in New York and internationally. She received her BA at SUNY, Buffalo, and her MFA at SUNY, Brockport.
Artistic Director, Leslie Friedman, will create a new work for dancers participating in her workshop from August 14-24. She plans a fusion ballet for dancers of Bharatanatyam and modern dance.
